Sustainable development cannot be achieved without innovation or without professionals with the necessary competencies. Higher education institutions (HEIs) are in a unique position to provide both, but this potential entails a responsibility to action.
HEIs should not wait for governments to compel them to act. Furthermore, they can and should lead the way with their example, contributing to sustainability and equity both within and outside of their campuses.
The SDG impact self-assessment tool
The self-assessment tool allows higher education institutions to map their contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)…
The SDG impact certification
Higher education institutions which are interested in a certificate emitted by UNESCO IESALC recognizing their results in the self-assessment can request an external evaluation process, at a cost.
Certified institutions will receive a digital badge that they can embed in their websites.
For all the details on the process of certification, you can consult our Certification Guideline.
